Wedding Minibus Hire in London

Wedding transport is a timing problem, not a vehicle problem. Getting forty guests from a hotel to a church for 1pm, to a reception across town for 4pm, and home again at midnight, is three separate jobs that have to interlock. We plan it as one. We hire vehicles from 9-seat MPVs to 70-seat coaches with a driver for weddings across London and the Home Counties, at a fixed price agreed in writing before the day.

For most London weddings, a full-day hire with the vehicle held between runs works out cheaper than booking three separate journeys. We will price it both ways and tell you which is better for your timings.

The three journeys most weddings need

The morning run

Guests from hotels to the ceremony. The common mistake is booking this too tight. Allow for the group that is never quite ready, and for the fact that a 16-seater cannot stop on a double yellow outside a church while everyone finds their hats.

The ceremony to reception shuttle

If your venues are apart, this is the run that decides whether your reception starts on time. If guest numbers exceed one vehicle, we can either send two vehicles or run a shuttle — one vehicle doing two trips. A shuttle is cheaper; two vehicles are faster. We will tell you what each costs and roughly what each means for your schedule.

The evening return

Almost always the run people underbook. Guests leave in waves, not all at once, and taxis at midnight in outer London are not reliable. A booked vehicle at a known time is the only version of this that works. If you want two departure times — say 22:30 and 00:30 — say so when you book; drivers' hours rules mean we need to plan for it rather than extend on the night.

How we plan a wedding booking

Tell us:

We come back with a written schedule showing each run, each vehicle, each pickup time and the total price. On the afternoon before the wedding we email you the driver’s name, mobile number and the vehicle registration, which you can pass to whoever is running the day so nobody is ringing you about transport while you are getting married.

Vehicles

Every wedding is different, so we match the vehicle to your guest numbers, your venues and your timings. If the look of the vehicle matters for your photographs, or you would like an executive-specification vehicle, tell us when you ask for a quote — specification is confirmed and priced on request.
9-seat MPV
9-seat MPV
For smaller wedding parties. Tell us if a particular specification matters for your photographs and we will confirm it on your quote.
16-seat vehicle
16-seat vehicle
Fine for guest shuttles and evening returns where the priority is getting everyone home.
19 to 70-seat coaches
19 to 70-seat coaches
For larger guest lists, and cheaper per head than running two minibuses.
Ribbons and decoration: allowed by prior agreement where possible — ask when you book.

Practical things worth knowing

Alcohol on board. No alcohol is allowed on any vehicle we book, including for weddings. Smoking is not allowed either.
Venue access. Some London venues have no coach access or restricted parking. Tell us the venue and we will check before the day rather than discovering it on the afternoon.
Confetti and mess. A cleaning deposit may be required. All rubbish needs to be taken off the vehicle at the end of the journey.
Timings overrunning. The driver waits up to 30 minutes from each scheduled pickup time, and any extra time has to be agreed in advance and is charged. More importantly, a driver cannot work unlimited hours — drivers’ hours rules apply on the day, so a schedule that slips by two hours may not simply be extendable. Build slack in when you book.
Booking window. Summer Saturdays in London are the busiest dates in this industry, so book as early as you can — it is the only way to guarantee availability.
Your guests are passengers on a public service vehicle, and that is a regulated activity. Every wedding we arrange is run by a licensed PSV operator, with drivers who hold category D1 or D entitlement and a current Driver CPC, in vehicles that hold a current DVSA annual test certificate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding minibus cost in London?
From £450 for a half day (up to 4 hours) and £700 for a full day (up to 8 hours) in a 16-seat vehicle, including the driver. Most London weddings need either a full day or a morning run plus an evening return.
Sixteen passengers in a 16-seat vehicle. For larger guest lists, a 19, 34 or 53-seat coach is cheaper per head than two smaller vehicles.
Yes. A shuttle — one vehicle running the same route two or three times — is usually the cheapest way to move a large guest list, as long as the schedule allows the extra time.
No. Alcohol is not allowed on any vehicle we book.
By prior agreement, where possible. Tell us when you book.
There is no fixed cut-off. Tell us your latest departure when you book — drivers’ hours are regulated and we need to plan a late finish rather than extend on the night.
The driver waits up to 30 minutes from the scheduled pickup time; any extra waiting has to be agreed and is charged. We would rather you booked an hour of slack than paid waiting time, so tell us honestly what time things are likely to happen.
As early as possible — it is the only way to guarantee availability. Summer Saturdays go first.
Yes — Surrey, Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire are all regular. Ask for a fixed price for your venue.
